The Vanilla Visa Gift Card takes the guesswork out of gift giving. It's a prepaid gift card, so the person who receives the card has the freedom to use it like cash. The card can be activated online, over the phone, or by the cashier when it's purchased in a store.
It's Automatic in Stores
When the card is purchased in a retail store, the cashier will activate it as part of the check-out process. A one-time activation fee will be charged. Depending on the amount of the gift card, the fee can range from $2.88 to $5.38.
Activating Cards Purchased Online
If the card was purchased online, you must activate and register it at vanillavisa.com. You can also do an activation through customer service at . To activate the card over the phone, follow the automated instructions and have the card available for easy reference.
Tips & Warnings
Vanilla Visas cannot be reloaded, and the user is responsible for charges greater than the balance of the card. If you wish to add a Personal Identification Number, or PIN, select the "debit" option during your first purchase. You can also add a PIN or change it at vanillavisa.com.
